Aigües de Barcelona will be the official sustainable hydration provider for the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks and the Zurich Marató Barcelona in 2025

In 2025, and for the third consecutive year, one of the main objectives of the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona by Brooks and the Zurich Marató Barcelona is to be an environmentally friendly race. For this reason, Aigües de Barcelona will be the official sustainable hydration provider at the five hydration points of the half marathon (km 5, 10, 15, 17.5, and the final refreshment station), which will take place on February 16 with 30,000 registrations sold, and at the 14 hydration points of the Zurich Marató Barcelona (km 5, 10, 12.5, 15, 17.5, 20, 22.5, 25, 27.5, 30, 32.5, 35, 37.5, and 40), which has 27,000 registered participants for the upcoming March 16 event.

At these hydration points, water will be provided in compostable cups for all runners.

The goal of the Barcelona half marathon and marathon in carrying out this initiative with Aigües de Barcelona is to reduce waste generated in a major sporting event like this one. To achieve this, Aigües de Barcelona will provide the infrastructure for the hydration points and compostable cups, as well as cover hydration for elite athletes and other areas of the race, such as the VIP zone.

In this way, Aigües de Barcelona contributes to the sustainability of the city’s half marathon and marathon while also demonstrating its commitment to sports and healthy habits.
