The Zurich Marató Barcelona and the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona announce their dates for 2025

The two races, both major international running events due to the festive atmosphere that surrounds them, are presenting a new concept for their next edition.

The two great running festivals in Barcelona already have a date for 2025. The Zurich Marató Barcelona will celebrate its 46th edition next 16th of March and one month before, on 16th of February, the 35th eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona will take place.

This 2024, the Barcelona Marathon had 20,000 runners, the third-highest number of participants in its history, and the half-marathon of the Catalan capital has reached a record number of participants with more than 28,000 runners, being the most crowded race of this distance in Spain and the second biggest in Europe. These figures have led the organizers of both races to go one step further and have come up with a new communication concept for next year.

More than Just a Race will be the new concept for joining both races, where the atmosphere and animation will be the real protagonists. Both the Zurich Marató Barcelona and the eDreams Mitja Marató Barcelona have become international reference events, not only because of their spectacular routes and the large number of participants, but also because of the involvement of the city and the atmosphere that surrounds them. Running in these two great events of popular athletics in Barcelona has become a true running and festive experience in equal parts, diverse and inclusive, which pays homage to the local cultural and sporting entities of the Catalan capital.
